Jakob Ingebrigtsen's brothers denied accreditation for the Olympics: "Completely out of the question"
Last year's World Championships saw criticism of the arrangements surrounding Jakob Ingebrigtsen. Despite this, the gold medal hopeful won't have his brothers by his side at the Olympics.
"We started working on that plan early last fall and have very few accreditations," Erlend Slokvik, the athletics federation's sports manager, told VG.
"It's been completely out of the question to give coaching accreditation to Filip or Henrik (Jakob Ingebrigtsen's brothers and training partners)."
"But Henrik has been very close to Jakob in his daily training over the past year?"
"Both Henrik and Filip have essentially been athletes themselves, trying to qualify for the Olympics (which they didn't). And as I said, that plan was made last year, and at that time they were athletes. It was never a topic that they would be involved in any other capacity," Slokvik replied.
