Probably this; certainly happy for the kid but in a way this is why I wanted them to introduce a novel distance when they were talking about a mixed relay. If you’re good at the 400 you can be the sixth or eighth best guy and probably still make the team. Should have been a mixed 4x800 honestly.
I would not pay that list any mind. Boling was not entered by the USA team and Courtney Lindsey only runs the 100/200 yet he according to this list is entered for the 4x4 as well as Boling.

Mixed 4x8 would have been amazing. Most of the big names don't show up for the mixed 4x4 because there is already a normal 4x4.
A mixed 4x8 right before the normal 4x4 would be incredible for tv. Imagine Keely Hodgkinson on the anchor leg w/ a 150m lead on Bryce Hoppel.
Currently the mixed 4x4 is an afterthought and nobody cares about it.

Lindesy in the 4x4 probably is a trick to enter more 4x1 athletes, other federations did the same. He will be allowed to run the 4x1 anyways and for the 4x4 those entered in the 400 flat and hurdles can be chosen as well.

Boling might be an alternate?
No. That's not how it works. You can't just pull rabbits out the hat.
And no to Boling- He was not given a spot. Not even as an alternative.

McGorty still lists on that list instead of Blanks. The list has its moments
He's grounded. He forgot to take out the trash last week. And he's been stayin up past his bedtime makin tiktok videos. I'm cutting his allowance and taking away his xBox till he straightens up.
Niether need to be listed as part of the relay pool. They can run if chosen as they are already entered in an individual event.
Read the OP for krap sake.
Bailey, Norman, Hall, are all already entered in an individual event AND listed in the link the OP provided.
Meaning that if the list was accurate (which it's not), Benjamin would have been listed despite being entered in an individual event.
The rules designate that an individual entry in the 400 also has to be in the 4x400 pool if the nation has a 4x4 entered. The rules also state that any other individual runner in other events may run the 4x4 and don't have to be listed in the initial pool. So Rai can still run, he just doesn't have to be listed in the pool. This prevents a country like the US to have 9 400 runners from the same gender going to the olympics. (6 is still a lot)

Lol that's actually how it works. Germany for example entered three (two male, one female) 100m sprinters in the 4x4 in order to get more choices for the 4x1 since slots for the 4x1 are limited
Also Boling obviously isn't listed as an alternate on the USATF roster (in fact no alternates got announced at all), but still any country is allowed to enter reserve athletes. It's the same for most other disciplines in fact, for example Christian Coleman is entered in the 100/200 (or Josh Hoey in the 800 or Vincent Ciattei in the 1500 etc) despite them not being mentioned in the official USATF announcement.
