This is correct. The likelihood of running a 3:26-27 time is slim, so if you set yourself up right (and have a monster kick) anyone who is in the 3:29 club has a shot at it.
Especially if Jakob and Kerr are overly focused on each other. You could see something crazy happen.
That said, I am still putting my money on Jakob. His 3:26 fitness is special and he won't mess up his last lap again. The first time it happened was a shock. He didn't believe it would ever happen again, so it did! But now he will be 100% ready for the last 100m.
But yes, Kerr could steal a victory again. It isn't impossible...
Does anyone know how many 3:29 guys there are right now?
You have at least 3 sub 3:29 guys - Kerr, Tim C, Yared. Don’t know if Komen is running. He needs to be in 3:26 mid shape and front run a 3:28 flat at least

What’s with the subtitle on home page “so that means Yared can win but Cole can’t”. I don’t think anyone would argue that Cole Hocker has hit his lifetime peak, so, that was Clickbait, and I fell for it. And I’m not saying Hocker’s necessarily in front of any other 3:30 runners, but the possibility of a win for him is certainly in there with a few others in a pool that has 15 to 20% chance.

Typo
Throw the hocker that won the trials in this Monaco race and he is definitely sub-3:30. Probably would finish right with Cheruiyot, Komen, and Nuguse too.

Kerr didn't steal a victory. He won fair and square.

Wrong. Jakob was sick and was below his best, so he stole the victory.
