English and lot of the Scandinavian and Nordic languages are all Germanic languages.
Just like French, Italian, Spanish, Romanian, Portuguese, etc. all stem from Latin.

That's irrelevant.
He speaks English because Norwegians learn it in school. Has nothing to do with the root language.
That is impressive. I believe this is a European record. Only Hicham El Guerroj, Corey Bellemore, and "Chuggin" Willy Willis have recorded faster times.
It's pretty crazy that Jakob won't admit that he does worse in non-paced races. I guess this positive (but bordering on delusional) mindset is something great athletes in other sports have too (golfers come to mind), but at some point it might hurt Jakob to not recognize that his front-running strategy is much harder to pull off in championships.
