This girl on my team broke down yesterday in the middle of 400 repeats. She just started crying hyper ventilating and saying I can’t do this anymore. When practice was done I went and asked her what was going on, she basically told me the team is running too much this summer, but she also wants high mileage, because she wants to be faster(which is a totally awful way of thinking) she also told me she doesn’t think running is fun anymore, and she is just so exhausted. I’m the captain of my cross country team, and I talked to my coach about the situation. He suggested she take a whole week off from running….. I guess my question is what is going on with her? Burn out? Exhaustion? None of the other girls seem like they are feeling this way. She’s doing the bear minimum at practice. I go home and run and bike myself. I feel healthy as a horse. I know all body’s are different, but in this situation she sounds like she’s been doing a marathon every day! I’m sorry I should be more considerate.
