looks like Sha'Carri and Gabby have a clear path to gold.
First Elaine, now Shericka... and Shelly Ann is like 67 yrs old now.
Sad day for track fans everywhere.
Discus.

Damn, that sucks.
That's if Gabby and SCR feel compelled enough to get sauced as usual. Part of me thinks SCR was spooked by the testing trauma she had last Olympics when she tested positive for "Marijuana," which was probably the cover up in a plea deal for a lesser sentence.

Maybe the Olympics upped their testing.

Yep, here's a video of the race. I thought she might have shown signs of rounding into form at the Jamaican Trials after a sub-par start to the year but, given how sprinting injuries unfold, it's hard to see her in contention for Paris. Probably the biggest threat to Richardson (maybe besides Alfred).

This is a completely insane take
Looks like she was in route to maybe 21.9 or 22.0 here.
Either way, she's in trouble.
Question, if you're Shericka and you're cleared to run at the games after this diagnosis, do you still try and double? Or do you try and skip the stress of the 100 rounds and hope to jog into the 200 final and see if the hammy can hold on for one full go?? The 200 might mean an extra week of rest.
I'm dropping the 100 and putting all my eggs into the 200 basket.
This is how CLEAN sprinting unfolds after the years and mileage she has on her.
It is a CONSTANT battle against injury--in fact, IMO the BEST coaches are those who can cleverly ensure that their athletes are getting the best technical training they can get, while staying relatively uninjured--and even at that, guys often run with niggles--a bit of a tweak in the achilles, a sore shoulder, whatever.
Time and training get everyone, sooner or later. Sprinters, sooner.
Clean sprinters, even sooner than that.
Of course, she may return to go 21.7 in Paris, lmao

Stop using fentanyl.
Don't worry. Shelly Ann will still run a totally legit 10.60 despite being like 40
Shelly Ann has mom power.
Same for Elle St Pierre and Kipyegon
