By all accounts, yes she is..............and she's not going to win any medals doing this. The marathon training has zapped her speed. Marathon will be her best chance, and too much can happen to really count on the medal there.
She can scratch if she gets injured, and it's not hard to fabricate an injury. If she starts, she just can't jog it in or blatantly DNF.
Unless I’m mistaken, scratching due to injury means the athlete is not allowed to participate in further events for the remainder of the Games.
Correct.
8/2: 5000 1st round
8/3: Off
8/4: Off
8/5: 5000 Final
8/6: 1500 1st round
8/7: Off or 1500 repechage (can you imagine if she has to run this!?!?!?!?)
8/8: 1500 Semifinal
8/9: 10,000 Final
8/10: 1,500 Final
8/11: Marathon
I imagine she could scratch the marathon if she gets enough medals on the track. There's only 11.5 hours between her 6th track event and the marathon. If she does the marathon, she's going to either need some instant sleeping pills or just stay awake the whole time so the soreness doesn't set in.
If she skips anything I think it will be the 1500. That would give her a manageable 4 races instead of 7.
In her recent interview with the Dutch press Hassan said she has been training for the 10,000 for two months. She also emphasized downhill training, which hints toward marathon.
If she does race the 1500 I think it will be because she can't let go of the rivalry with Kipyegon and the recent reality that Kipyegon is receiving more praise.
Olympic gold in the marathon would reverse things in a hurry, no matter what Kipyegon does at 5000 and 1500. I'm not sure Hassan fully grasps that.

She should try the Zatopek: 5K/10K/Marathon. The 1500 is a fool's errand with this schedule.
Correct. It will just wear her out. And running the 1500 final the night before the marathon seems insane.
I don't think she's medalling in 5000 (Chebet, Tsegay. Kipyegon). 10k/marathon are her bes bests but it might be cool to see her do all 4 even if she's like 5th in all of them.
When it's all done, 30 minutes after the Olympics conclude, Michael Johnson Track League organizers can declare her the winner of the Olympics even though she won zero medals. ;)

Even without running the 1500m, one day’s rest after the 10, is not enough for the marathon.
I like her spirit but she’ll end up with zero medals if she carries on with that crazy schedule. She’s definitely not looking speedy over the 1500 so she should ditch that for a start.

Nobody will remember who won bronze in the 2024 womens 1500m final, but we are already talking about, and will continue to remember when Sifan Hassan attempted the quadruple and successfully competed at an elite level in the Olympics.
A lot of us are skeptical of her methods, history and coach, but on an island even the skeptics will give credit where credit is due for elevating the profile of the sport and women's athletics in this attempt.
It's pretty badass, you have to admit.
Top 10 in all 4 events is possible, top 5 in all 4 events would be an all time achievement of the modern era.

I would be about a hundred times more impressed, if Ingebrigtsen pulls off the 1500/5000m double.

She is definitely a hard-ass, nefarious connections or not.
