Jeff Galloway qualified for the Olympic Games in 1972 in the 10,000. After retiring he developed the Run-Walk-Run method which has also been called Scout-Paced Running. By using this method military groups have been able to cover great distances in their army boots. The reason why I do it is that I cannot run fast anymore and do not want to be seen huffing and puffing down the street or slamming my feet into the ground. Also, this style prevents injuries and helps me deal with other health issues.
Has anyone had wonderful experiences with this method in old age? Did it help you return to a previous running lifestyle where you could run decent times again? Do you live in a warm or cold climate? (I live in a cold climate and have found that it is a deterrent to this method and walking!)
