He’s right. No sprinter should top out at 21 unless they become plagued with injuries. Lemaitre needed to move to a top level coach. He didn’t seem very ambitious and never made a move to improve his career. Wasted talent.
He's right. Without PEDs European sprint training sucks. Hughes trains in Jamaica. Marcell trains in the US, and was probably doping when he won his first medal in 2020. They do everything they can to feel good in training. Part of the reason why no one from Europe has broken 44 yet.
When Marcell Jacobs won that surprised gold at the Tokyo Olympics, he was training in Italy with an Italian "nutritionist" who he claims to have parted company with after the Olympics. After his drop off in performance, he moved to train in the USA.

Didn't Bolt himself top out at 21-22? Well I suppose he did have injuries later but I think some athletes are just genuinely in their prime at that age. Injuries are part and parcel of the sport as well, it's almost impossible that someone sees out their whole career having reached their full potential speed wise and not have been injured.

Look Lemaitre won a Bronze in 2016 at the Olympics When he was 26. Was it based on some luck and are you probably right ? Yes. but Lemaitre was a 9.90 and 19.8 guy. It’s not easy winning with PBs like that . What Lemaitre needed to do was desperately find a way to improve his first 30 meters. His starts were on par to people running 10.7 - 11.0 . He won a bronze at the 2011 WC and another Bronze in 2016. There are some athletes quicker than him who have not won a single individual Olympic medal or any kind of medal. He performed when it most mattered and did the best he could with his strengths like speed maintenance and endurance against his weaknesses. He’s not a “waste of talent” by any means

His form was ragged but he was quite fast and held up well over 200m
