Huh? ESP didn't compete today. How did she 'go home' ?
Plus, she’s the Dairy Queen! She’ll be there, fighting and giving it everything. If she was in today’s race, pretty certain she would have performed extremely well. At least with Muir. IMO, I do not think Hiltz could compete in a fast race like this one was today.

She will be fighting for that inside rail but this will be a completely different race. Everyone is acting as if she's the trials 1500 champ. Didn't she come in 3rd? I believe Mackay has a better chance.
Ok but you gotta remember St Pierre ran 3:55 with no pacer after 2 5ks and 2 1500s. I don't know how much that adds up to, but no pacer + 13k of running has gotta be at least like 2-3s. 3:52-3 doesn't feel all that close though after seeing how far away Muir was jeez.
Elle may have 3:53 or even 3:52 in her without leading the entire race and without two hard 5000s in her legs. But 3:50 or 3:49???
Not even close. She ran a 2:01 for 6th place, at the Adrian Martinez classic just a month ago. She’s currently not as fit as when she ran her indoor 8:20.
Wait a minute! I thought that Hiltz was considered the top American in the 1500.
False, Cole Hocker is the top American in the 1500.
ESP is on par with Hull and could have ran between 3:50-3:52 today. Todays results are actually great news for ESP.
Elle St Pierre will probably perform similarly to her last Olympics as the Americans usually peak for the trials and then get their participation trophy. And as an excuse perhaps that she took a pregnancy test...
