Have done around 16 weeks of base training with threshold and a bit of speed work. Have done no VO2max workouts except for yesterday. I need to peak in the mile in 8 weeks. I typically do double threshold twice a week. Do I skip all threshold runs/double threshold days and replace them with VO2 max workouts?
My base phase looked like:
Day 1: Double Threshold
Day 2: Easy
Day 3: Double Threshold
Day 4: Easy
Day 5: Speed
Day 6: Long Run
Day 7: Easy
Repeat.
