Ok so over the past two weeks ran .72 in the 10 yard dash at 5'11 and 213. And ran 1.94 in the 20 yard dash at 5'11 and 215. The .72 ties my PR from last year.
The 1.94 is now faster than my previous personal record of 1.96 from November 25th, 2022.
Hand timed on all of these. Add in exactly .85 of a second to both of these to get a more accurate fully automatic time or FAT.
In the 10 yard dash workout.. I ran
.72 PR
.75
.78
.78
.78
.81
.81
.81
.82
.83 All with 1 to 3 mins rest in between.
In the 20 yard dash workout on another day I ran
1.94 PR
1.97
2.00
2.00
2.03
2.04 all with 2 to 4 mins rest.
My best from last year was 1.97.... Extremely rare for me to break 2.03 in this... My average has been 2.06 to 2.16 over the past few years.
My previous PR used to be 2.09 in like 2017 or 2018..
No wind at all on the 20s. I usually allow up to 10mph. And that 10mph usually makes me run about .05 to .10 faster. Even on days where there was 35-45 mph winds over the past 10 years I didn't come close to breaking 2.00 on this.
I'm usually only at PR speed or strength a few times per years. Everything( About 20 trillion factors) has to come together perfectly for me to be able to get down this low on this.
Broad jumps were also good last week. Did 9.0... Tied my best of the year. My PR is 9.3 and 9.4 but that was done after doing my standard 8 by 35 yard dashes and with tons of heat and humidity. I can only get PRs in broad jumps with temps over 92 degrees and immediately after the 8 by 35 yard dash workout.
Did the 9.0 in around 73 degrees weather. So really good week on broad jumps last week. Usually my average is 8.4 to 8.7 on any given day.
Verticals were also good last week. About 1 inch off of my PR of 30.75 from last year. So did right arond 29.75 last week in the standing vertical jump.
I need to go heavier on hack squats this week and pretty much everything else at the gym. If I can somehow get my quads stronger I should be able to run faster than this. I'm going to do more sets of leg exts, leg curls and a few other things.
