The U.S. likely spends bazillions developing our soccer kids / boys, from cradle to 22. Coaches, trainers, travel leagues, designer backpacks. Our population pool is reasonable, maybe not when you account for obesity. Is it possible we are overthinking it and our system is more interested in financial gain, rather than training density, obsession, and hard work? We don’t seem to be winning the ROI battle.
Seems to apply to AAU Bball - a little.
Does this carry over to track as well? Do we preach the Daniels formula and all other systems - only to get smoked at the Intl level?
Is it reasonable to - Just run a crap-ton of miles, have workouts at different paces, and race hard. And screw the folks who say to save some for college - hogwarsh. Crap-ton may mean HS boys getting over 3K miles per year as a norm, with some going closer to 4K miles.
