After being a competitive D1 collegiate athlete, i developed some pain that has taken me nearly 10years to diagnose. Turns out it was PAES. I am booked for surgery in a couple of months time.
Assuming all goes well, I know the recovery will be relatively slow to try and begin running again, but have been thinking what i could do from a strength and conditioning perspective to prepare myself to run again. What are peoples thoughts? Is it worth concentrating on areas that used to give my grief injury wise (calf raises for achilles issues, or glute med exercise for IT Band issues...) or more general S&C focusing on hing, squat, push, pull...?
