I have asthma. Peak flow = 450, using a salbuterol (albuterol) inhaler. It should be around 650 for a person (not even an athlete) of my sex, age and height.
Ran a 400m 2 days ago and did terribly, likely because of asthma, and have been dealing with exercise induced asthma ever since.
Will likely receive a steroid inhaler shortly, to be used daily. Has anyone ever been in this situation? How much improvement did you see in your peak flow readings, and running performance, after long-term daily use of a steroid inhaler?
I know this is very specific, but would massively appreciate any advice. Been googling for like 2h. Really hoping I'm not just doomed to basically never improve because of asthma - just got back into running after 10y away, and was looking forward to 5-6y of attacking times.
