Seeing Graham Blanks strong run at the Trials made me think back to the LetsRun podcast with Alex Gibby, where Rojo and Gibby discussed pace on "easy days" (or as Gibby refers to them "maintenance runs"). I always thought this was the big difference between the John Kellogg / Rojo philosophy and Gibby's philosophy.
As Rojo stated at the end of the column, "what pace should people run their recovery days? Weldon Johnson and the entire Cornell team was famous for going super slow on their easy days and yet John just praised the concept of running the easy days quicker."
Rojo and JK - write another coaching column diving into this topic more! That last piece of the article seems to contradict one of the main principles of the LetsRun coaching philosophy.
