Not through these eyes. He is cycling's version of DJT.
And I wish George Hincapie would separate himself from LA. GH continues to be his loyal lieutenant, and through my eyes, George has more genuine cycling credibility than LA ever had and ever will have.

Sounds like mental gymnastics to me. Does it make him any more credible if he went along with LA and all his shenanigans? Hincapie was the master of manipulating his hct.

George was just as dirty as Lance, though nowhere close to the complete a-hole that Lance is.
2) Livestrong has been a huge net positive for millions of people
As someone who competed against him and rode the hills of Austin with him - he was the biggest prick ever. All I have to say. He would try to get in fights with friends of mine who were the most kind people ever. Lance was a Prick. Just an awful person.

That seems to be a common trait for many people who are driven so hard to be the best. There are numerous NFL quarterbacks, for example, who are total pricks as well. Some say that you have to be that way to succeed in some fields, I don't know.

i'm honestly stunned. hahaha
Haha - I really have no idea why anybody woud be so combative with other riders. Most are just out to have a nice ride. I could have smoked him in running and swimming but that is for another day. LOL>

That's kind of awesome. It must have been surreal. I'd find that hilarious.
Sally, I’m curious who you are… almost certainly know each other. I rarely use my official LR handle anymore… anyway…
I once had a conversation with Lance. Actually, I spoke with his handler / entourage, who would then turn to Lance (who was right there next to us) and repeat exactly what I just said. And, then, Lance would ask a question to his friend and then his friend would repeat the question to me, and so on. It was very surreal bc his friend was acting exactly like an interpreter, but we were all speaking English.
To cut him a break, though, I also witnessed “fans” who were NOT chill and who dud respect personal space whatsoever. So, maybe he had to be weird and have an English to English interpreter with the commonfolk.

Sure, any of us that have lived and trained in the dirty 512 likely all know each other. At the very least, we’ve crossed paths on the track at Austin high. We’ve all probably have our Lance stories as well. Not a nice guy.

for sure-he was Lance's long-time teammate since the mid 90's Motorola days--hard for him to turn down money/publicity for his clothing line being part of Lance's WEDU and the MOVE podcast; they have enough loyal followers to do reasonably well..in for a penny in for a pound...
"way more genuine cycling credibility" was not meant to imply Hincapie raced clean. Just that his participation in the pro peloton far exceeds LA's with regard to experience across multiple teams, types of races, and race objectives. I speculate that GH is/was a far less polarizing personality among pro riders than LA, and wish that his perspective was available separate from LAs.
I have had no direct interaction with LA and my opinions are based on information in the public sphere. I realize he's a hero to many despite his misgivings and pejorative anecdotes regarding his character... and that's a component behind my comparison to DJT.
He was singled out by an overzealous clown who, imo, ruined cycling. Doping was rampant and simply the norm in cycling. We all knew it and accepted it yet here comes mr do-gooder, gotta ruin the sport...Thanks, idiot. Hope you feel good about it.
I tried to view the situation from his prospective and look past his indiscretions because "everyone was doing it." However, as I start to forget the really negative stuff, Lance will inevitably post trollish nonsense to social and I remember what an absolute prick he is and why he was forced out of the sport in disgrace. From whatever reason the guy can't help himself.
