Can he get in on ranking at all?
Can he get in on ranking at all?
2 second faster last lap than Fischer and Nur. What a stud!
With this performance it’s possible but have to see based on rankings
Parker raced his absolute guts out. inspiring
5000m rankings is super tough. Current cutoff is 1218 so he would need 1272 from this race to get that given his current total. Not happening.
Instead he will need like 10 people to scratch
Parker Wolfe doesn't have that dog in him...he is the dog.
I don't think so
Today Wolfe got 1171 + 70 points = 1241
His average score is now 1207 (1241, 1230, 1152) but he needed 1218 to tie Uruguay's Santiage Catrofe for the last spot
Looks like Blanks makes the team
Who thought this system was a good idea lmao no one knows what's going on.
I don’t see any way he gets enough points. Blanks is going to get the 3rd spot.
read the other threads before starting new ones ffs
Wolfe doesnt make the rankings, Blanks goes to Paris

I think Graham is in.
So he’s gonna lose a spot to a guy he’s beaten head to head in their last two races? Makes sense
Less points in the 5k. He only gets 50. Unless a bunch of people drop out, we’ll be shooting blanks at the olympics

It's not like the ranking system is a big surprise to everyone.
I think he needs 4 currently qualified people to drop while those countries have no replacements.
That would open enough ranking spots for him to get in.
In reality, that is impossible
…as he said. He now had to blame his coach

while impressive he NEEDED to run 2 seconds faster while Nur and Fisher were coasting until the stretch.

That's wrong, there's no Category of Competition that gets you 70 points for third in the 5000 in the World Athletics scoring. I believe US trials are a "GL" level competition (area senior championships), no? That would get him 120 performance points for a score of ~1290, which puts him right on the bubble of whether he's 42nd place. We'll probably have to wait until tomorrow.
I know, I’m just a bitter UNC fan. We don’t see a ton of success and watching him race and develop has been a ton of fun.
Ugh, we need to do this again?
After tonight, Wolfe should be #46 so he would need four scratches. I don't believe Beamish is running the 5k, one of the Americans would get taken out, so two more scratches?
Mills, Nordas, or Mechaal could scratch for the 1500, but not likely since the 1500 is first at the Olympics.
