Relatively inexperienced runner, only recently became aware of the concept of "the long run" instead of having all your (not speed session) runs be the same distance.
I have some good training shoes that I regularly take up to 6 miles, but they may be too firm for 10+ miles, or 1:30+ hours.
I thought I'd ask some experienced runners, what do you guys use for your longest runs?

I just use the same things as I'd use for any other run.

LOL these replies... Like you I used a normal training shoe that's a little stiff, but when I go longer (over 10 miles) I like to use the Nike Invisibles (max cushion trainer)
Saucony Type As. I'm not a fan of high stack shoes.

Most clueless 'sit down comics' are trying to compensate for their ignorance of the running thing.
the long run is primarily to build endurance, it's not about speed. so go for the shoe that will get you out the other end as fresh as possible, ready for the next run. no minimalist type shoes.
