Clark has 12 points on 4-14 shooting, only 2-10 from 3. She also has 6 turnovers.
Taurasi has 18 points on 5-12 shooting, 2-8 from 3 and only 4 turnovers.
To be fair, I am an absolute fan of Geno Auriemma and have liked UConn women's basketball for almost three decades. I was a fan of Diana Taurasi because she invented the trash talk and game play that Ms. Clark uses now. I think that the OGs of the WNBA got a raw deal. It's true and they should feel cheated.
The solution is build up the league like pioneers... what Taurasi should be doing is helping Clark, Reese, Cardoso, Boston, etc. be the representation of the improvement of the league to get people to go to games.
Taurasi should not spite Clark for the attention she gets because if Taurasi can admit that Clark is simply getting the attention finally that all WNBA players deserve (and deserved), she would look like a diplomatic hero for the league.
Diplomacy is why the NBA absolutely loved David Robinson .. and why Diana Taurasi should be the WNBAs next David.

I agree with much of this. For a league that only exists because it's subsidized by the NBA I would think the other players would realize that Clark could be the catalyst that gets them full stands and profitability. And, ultimately, better pay. Instead there's petty jealousy of the woman who is putting fans in the stands in record numbers. For you doubters, check the attendance at Fever games versus non Fever games. The WNBA has a real opportunity to capitalize on Clark's name and they're probably going to blow it. And the WNBA will sink back into the irrelevance that Taurasi, Moore, Parker, Griner, Bird and all the other so-called big names couldn't pull it out of.
It's true that she did. I don't have a quote but you could look it up. Taurasi was not friendly about Clark at all
Taurasi’s comments were overblown. This is what she said to Scott Van Pelt:
“Look, SVP, reality is coming,” Taurasi told SportsCenter’s Scott Van Pelt about Clark on April 6. “There’s levels to this thing. And that’s just life. We all went through it. You see it on the NBA side, and you’re going to see it on this side. You look superhuman playing against 18-year-olds, but you’re going to be playing against some grown women that have been playing professional basketball for a long time.”
Taurasi continued: "Not saying Clark’s skills are not gonna translate, because when you’re great at what you do, you’re just gonna get better. But there is gonna be a transition period where you’re gonna have to give yourself some grace as a rookie.”
Nothing wrong with those comments. Taurasi has been proven absolutely right.
