I thought there was some rule that you had to be Mormon for these head coach positions. Diljeet Taylor's family is originally from India and she is Hindu.
Schools (like BYU) can't discriminate in hiring or admissions based on religion when they receive federal money (student aid, research grants, etc.). Jim McMahon went to BYU for a football scholarship but was not in LDS as an example. It's up to the individual to be comfortable with most people being in LDS at the school if they work or go to school there. Liberty University, Oral Roberts, Notre Dame, etc. would be similar.
Eyestone is the director of men’s and women’s track and field and head men’s cross country coach. Taylor is the associate director of men’s and women’s track and field and head women’s cross country coach.
No bigee. BYU is open with many non-Mormon student-athletes,. Travel teams in all sports always include at least one non-Mormon assistant coach on staff to handle life style and cultural issues that arise between Mormons and non Mormon teammates. Hope this helps.

USC, Pepperdine, Pacific, LMU, Stanford, BYU, etc. discriminate based on their interpretation of human races. Limits on Asians are approximately 20% to 30% recorded over decades from practice. It's not an official written policy. The list above defines Asia as the Middle East, Far East, South East, India, Iran, Pakistan, etc. The general policy is to maintain as many White skinned students enrolled as underclass students as possible. To soft ban or shadow ban Black and Brown skinned students. It's very controversial and the subject of many heated debates.
True. When I coached her younger brother, the he got the nickname "The Punjab Express"
Why did you not put a stop to that, coach?
Why would I have put a stop to it? That's a fire nickname. It's not derogatory. He's Punjabi, he's fast, end of story.
True story, when he finished high school, he dropped down in distance and tried some field events. He held the PV record at the local JC for 14 years until it was broken last year.

Religious schools are exempt from certain employment laws and are allowed to discriminate based on religious belief even if they receive federal funding. Title VII / Section 702 addresses the issue.

Are you joking? The quotas are on Asians (viewed even worse than whites) and whites.

Liberty et al. aren't comparable to ND. You're comparing some of the most strict religious (evangelical) schools in the nation to a barely Catholic one that constantly hosts drag events and has a ton of woke DEI / pride weeks
