She medaled at worlds last year at 200m, so she’s def not pure 100. She is better at 100 though. I’m surprised she didn’t make the team too though, I thought she’d win or at least get second after watching her in the prelims and semis.
I think she may have been nervous about stepping on a lane line and getting DQed and that was enough to cause her to miss the top 3 in the 200. she handled it very gracefully though and running in the Olympics 100 and 4x100 is pretty awesome which she can look forward to
The top 3 all ran under Sha'Carri's PB. It was just a really strong field.
sha carri jogged a 21.99 in heats
she should have qualified
She might have been spooked by the line infraction.
The other ladies had plenty to fight for. Brittany Brown has been at it a long time, happy to see her make the OLY team. Obviously McKenzie Long. Gabby "Whereabouts" Thomas is still the best out of everyone at the 200.
I don't know much about the sprints but she ran faster in prelims.
Richardson is a pure 100M runner. She is too short and her breasts are too big to ever be competitive in the 200M. She runs out of gas at 150 irrespective of how fast or slow she starts.

Nonsense. That's not it. She is just not built for the 200M. She runs out of gas at around 150M
Not really completely either. Maybe choked a little on the turn, but there was a brief moment when it looked like she might make it back in the top 3 before she faded. Bad race, it happens. But the other women ran well. Given her 200 PB, I wouldn't call her a pure 100 runner, even if she's better at it than the 200.

Look at the top three, all ran faster than her PR which is 21.92 from Budapest.Moving up from 100 to 200 requires more speed endurance than she has.200 meter sprinters have better success dropping down to 100 than the reverse because they are stronger.Tommie Smith,Lewis,Bolt, Lyles,Kerly(400),Bednarek.Flojo was strictly a 200 sprinter until ‘88 and we know what damage she did in the 100.Conversly Asafa Powell much as he tried could never master the deuce, just didn’t have the speed endurance.

She has a habit of storming through the heats in the 200m, and experiencing fatigue (I think) in the final. She's a pure power athlete who struggles to let off the gas. It's like asking an 800m running to take it easy for the first 2k of the 5k; their rhythm makes it difficult
So, we are so far up her butt we can't see how much of a massive choke this is? She is a global Medalist in the 200m. Can anybody find an example of ANY 2023 World Championship Medalist that failed to make their countries Olympic team in that event? And she cruised to a very comfortable 21.99 in the semi. She looked (and should have) been ready for 21.8x or better. There were dummies in this board saying she would be winning gold in the 200m at Paris. And then there's the small matter of her quiting at the end of the race. She flat out stop trying.
Goodluck betting in her in the 100 in Paris. She's just as likely to run 10.6 and win as she is to not even make the finals.
