NAU is one of the most dominant XC programs in history but they didn't even win their conference meet this year in track, and have not been competitive at all at NCAAs. Most distance-focused schools are in the same boat.
Depends on what you mean. Adams state was great in XC and distance on the track side but we're 8th at their conference meet because they don't invest in anything but distance
