This thread was initially called "Jakob vs Narve at 5000m in 1 hour 20 min"

From Nrk (google translate):
10:57 Ingebrigtsen turns around: Runs the 5000 meters against Narve Gilje Nordås in the NM Jakob Asserson Ingebrigtsen unexpectedly runs the 5000 meters during the NM in Sandnes on Saturday. The organizer confirms this to NRK on Saturday morning.
There he meets Narve Gilje Nordås.
Thus Ingebrigtsen turns. The plan was to only run the 1500 meters during the NM. It has been an eventful week for Ingebrigtsen, who became a father for the first time earlier this week.
The reversal means that there will be a duel with Narve Gilje Nordås on Saturday.
Neither Ingebrigtsen nor Nordås has yet completed the Olympic requirement of 13.05. Both athletes currently have an Olympic place in the distance through the world ranking. But that does not mean a hundred percent safe place. In other words, it may depend on a good pace at the athletics stadium in Sandnes.
The race starts at 1:45 p.m. Running and the National Championships in athletics are broadcast live on NRK TV and NRK 1.
Also a free stream at Nrk (probably no need of vpn): klick to the left on 12.00 Nm i friidrett. If you can’t find it, klick to the right on Vis hele dagen, and then on the left 12.00 Nm i friidrett. 5000m is 1 hour 40min out -1.45 pm CET.
Please keep me posted. I’m going to bed
Jakob running this one out of spite, to deny any glory to Nordås.
Poor quality stream

The nrk one? It might get scaled according to your internet service, it at least HD if not more.
Can they fast forward through all these other useless events and just start the 5k
Is this going to be Filip's last track race as a professional?
Home arena. Nationals. Title stays in the family.
Decent send-off all things considered.
Pretty slow pace .... 65 sec laps now.
Narve leading at 8:04 3k
Jakob doing his crowd waving to get them to cheer more
Jakob ghost in front two laps to go, Narve trying to follow him
13:14 so wasn't interested in hitting the standard but I guess he doesn't need to
…and he still does not have standard
13:14 Jakob - Narve hung on well for 13:15

He needs to show how easy it is to protect his fragile ego.
Brings the baby out to show the crowd after the race. Looks like he’s just having fun.
Jakob walking his newborn baby around the track and stadium now. Narve looked like he might be back, last two laps were good for him as well.
What a finish! Very impressive showing by Nordas. I don't think Jakob was expecting for him to hold on as well as he did over that last 600 or so.
53.9 last lap.

He wants to put on a little bit of a show for his hometown. You'd know what it's like to be part of a community if you weren't a basement dwelling ogre.
