The top 8 at Budapest were all sub 4 in far worse conditions and at a faster pace. The ability to go sub 4 in the last 1600 is essentially a prerequisite to finish in the top half these days.
It was certainly one of the most relaxed 53s I have seen, however. I do think he played a little fast and loose and should have conserved more for the final, but only time will tell.
Nah this dude is on another level. Fisher might need to take it with 5 laps to go if he wants a chance to beat Hocker.
You’re kidding right? Hocker jog 4:00 lol. Kid can barely run sub 4 whhahwhwhahahahah idiots. i can’t wait for him to run slow af and if he runs fast I will hurt someone
He didn’t jog it. He closed in 53 when he didn’t need to. Pretty dumb if you ask me.
This makes no sense, he could have run 54 and been sweating making the last spot, or he could run 53 and be easily in. What should he honestly have done?

He’s the one that pushed the pace from 450m out. He’s the reason they had to close so fast. Had he not done that he could have sat until the last 150m and finished in the same spot. He looks really fit. He’ll probably be fine in the final. But he didn’t need to do that.
