Hi, I am a girl who is going into her senior year for cross country. I have no coach and am clueless on summer training. I am kinda desperate that’s why I am here.
my 3 mile pr is 18:00, 5k: 19:10, 3200m (track) 11:15
Last year I was doing 40-45 miles then during the season dropped to like 30-35 for cross country. Track I was running 30 miles a week when I got my pr.
currently I am trying to build up to 55-60miles. I am doing a 50mile week but my legs have been so tired I haven’t been able to do a workout. My typical runs currently are 7:50-8:30 pace with around 400-900ft elevation gain. I run 6 days a week. Haven’t been able to stretch much after runs so idk if that’s why I am not recovering. Idk if I should keep going up in mileage with easy runs and see if I can adjust because I really want to go sub 18:30 for a 5k. I currently just run 8 miles a day. Maybe I should mix it up??? Either way should I cut my mileage and do more workouts or just wait (up my mileage) and see what happens. Also what’s ur tips on recovery. Thanks
