Don't love the first 2 reps of that first workout. That's a late season workout to simulate actually racing. Ideally, you'd hit target pace and be on your knees puking at the end. Looks like you cooked yourself on the first rep? I bet the 64 was 29-35 - amirite?
The 600 is actually pretty good data. Based on that, you should run sub 2 if you pace it right and the field is good blah blah.
What's your PR?
it was my first insanely hard 800 workout. not just this season but lifetime. and yeah i got cooked on the second rep i even stoped before the end couldve gone 63
i have never raced in my life. started running 8 months ago
I would try to get out in 58 or 59 if I were you. Good luck
Decahedron? Rhombus?
thanks i will do that. some people in the heat are a lot faster(sub 1.50), some are just a little faster sub 2 and some are around my level. so i will have to make sure i dont start too fast,

Run ten marathons in succession. Your predicted 800 time will be the average of your HH:MM applied as MM:SS. It's the Yasso 800 estimator.
Let the 1:50 guys go from the gun. Expect to be pulled along with their fast start, but lay off them. They may open in 53/54.
Hopefully you have a sense of what :60/400m is, and you should push just beyond that that for the 3rd 200 and go for broke over the final 200m. I think you'll break 2:00.
thanks and also for the strategy. what do you think the 400m split should be?
Basically echoing everyone so far: you'll probably be anywhere from 1:59 - 2:02 in a well-paced race.
Caveat: if you're underdeveloped aerobically and can run, say, a 52.xx or faster quarter, I could easily see 2:04+ in an 8 where you kinda fall apart over the last 200. You'll improve on that over the course of the season as you run more races.
I'd say take the first 400 in 57/58 and just see how it goes from there. You might fry yourself in the last 200, but it could also work perfectly.
i wouldnt say that i can run a 52 maybe more like 53-54,5 im really not sure but aerobically i do fall apart as the distance gets longer: think 17:45 5k. it is my first ever race but its one of 2-3 races this season so i wouldnt really want to mess it up.
edit:57/58 seems a little fast and risky. what do you think
Did you race this weekend? How did it go? How did you feel?
