Useless middleman between my GPS watch and Strava
Useless middleman between my GPS watch and Strava
Thanks for taking the time to make this thread. You are about as useful as Garmin connect.
Also about as useful as a wet floor sign in the Sahara Desert....

Well played. This post was a perfect explanation of the benefits of Garmin Connect.
Stay away from the glass, Clarice.
Am I missing out? I don’t even use Strava. What does it offer that Connect doesn’t? Or is this post ironic?

agree. never got strava and i don't feel like i'm missing something.
Connect is fine. But yes, it feels like a middleman app for those on strava.
Strava offers significantly more social networking than connect. The biggest thing it offers is an easy way to see your friends runs and pro runners runs.

Connect has a more complete reports system that I like to check maybe once a week. Strava has social features that are a nice way to keep in touch with some local dedicated hobby joggers and a handful or running acquaintances. They both have their purpose.
I'm at the senior level; maybe even the senior senior level. My running is reduced to the longer runs - marathons and ultras. Before getting into the long (endurance) runs I researched it at every angle - from socks to hats to nutrition to rest to data analysis - and beyond. I found that there are some very good AI background devices and device- supported training packages available that analyze running (and related) data and direct your training to meet your goals. I settled on TrainingPeaks and Garmin. TP's training guides coupled with Garmin Connect and the Garmin 965 watch have never failed me in meeting my desired goals. My yardstick for performance is qualifying for the Boston Marathon with a time to insure acceptance. That combo (beginning with the Garmin 965's many predecessors, has not failed me for the past 10 years.
