I’m sure him and Elisabeth have had this discussion before about making sure he gets adequate rest and sleep. It’s not like they didn’t know a baby was on the way.
He’s done, no Olympic Gold for him. A baby is too much work.
Not going to lie, have thought the same. While it is very much against norwegian culture I kind of hope they have employed a full time maid/nanny to take some of that initial stress off him/Elisabeth. Just up untill the olympics or so. There might be lots of nights with no sleep and a lot more household work than he is used to if not. In Norway new dads usually get two weeks paid leave, and there is talks about that being increased to four (in addition to 15 weeks paternity leave + what is left from the mothers 15+16 weeks, usually from the kid is about 8-9 months old), which I think is telling for what is culturally expected of Jakob at least.

My educated guess would be that Jakob will spend a week or two with his family + compete at nationals, then go to a training camp to prepare for paris, with a short detour to Monaco.
They are financially quite comfortable, so I would assume a nanny will be hired.

Jakob should have put secret his training methods and programs.
Those things are paid in gold.
Now we see runners who where average two to three years ago, dreaming to do 3:28.
