Protein seems like the essential nutrient for recovery, but it is almost never discussed in the running world.
During my time (90s), it was all low fat, high carbs. Snackwells and other bad options. I wish I knew protein was critical. I had many over-use injuries and sickness, that looking back could be a result of lack of quality protein.
Now, I try to get 1g per pound. And, I notice that I am much stronger, and healthy. If there is one thing I could tell my younger self, get good protein.
Any other thoughts?
