Yes, and no sync issues. AW is good for music, payments, emergency calls without a phone (with a watch plan), but not so much for running. Ironically, the only time I wear my AW is while running (without a phone) but not to record the run itself.

Generally agree with bah. But as I've gotten slower I find AW is fine for easy runs -- it tends to (at least appear) it connets with GPS faster than my Garmin 945 and also I think the HR sensor does better than Garmin optical HR (which makes sense given all the marketing emphasis on like AW health tracking).
