I used to donate blood fairly regularly but stopped because it took me a while to feeling normal again. It seems like it would take at least a few weeks to a month for me to feel that my aerobic capacity was the same as it previously was and for me not get winded as easily. It happened with running and riding a bike. I get constant emails from the blood center asking me to donate because my blood type is O- and I am a universal donor.
I have thought about donating again. Is there any benefit to training hard after donating and feeling that aerobic capacity is diminished. Someone told me that it makes athletes stronger but I'm not buying it.
