From Kara Goucher to Clayton Murphy, Evan Jager to Andrew Wheating, dozens of US Olympians have the Olympic rings on their body. Here are their stories.
So many tattoos…only to win no medals at the Olympics 😂
Unfortunately there are lots of Olympic wannabes. And that’s where it ends. Just a feather in their cap to say they’re an Olympian so they can parade and post photos of their USA gear and party in Paris. Never getting out of the first rounds. Them they can go back to their little towns and have signs with the name on it. Gee so proud!
As someone who would never get a tattoo (just not my thing) the Olympic rings is probably the one thing I would get a tattoo of if I was talented enough to make a team. Why not, that's a huge achievement and making it to the Olympics is something every runner dreams of but most of us never get anywhere close. Is being an Olympian something you can only be proud of if you get a medal? Anyways, this was a fun little piece to read and I'm looking forward to cheering on team USA this summer
“The body is directly exposed to the toxic substances contained in the ink due to the injection of tattoo ink into the skin. Pigments may accumulate in the lymph nodes or other organs as they are in direct contact with the skin tissue and lymphatic system.”

Lol. It's ok man, the world needs useless, talentless people like you as well. It's because of people like you that the Olympians stand out.
I could see Eric Holt getting the tattoo before even making the team because yada yada I deserve to be here and I pay for my own shoes so I'm basically an olympian

Hit a nerve honey? Why are you so triggered by a true statement? Go back into your cave
I know there's a fair amount of northeasterners here. In the mid to late 2010s college scene, there was a kid who was at a lot of meets. He had the Olympic rings tattooed on him. I found some article about him where he said he hoped he could make a team someday. He was a solid runner if I recall correctly, maybe a 48s 400m? But world's away from Olympic talent. I think about him every now and then and giggle.
