tbh this question isn't as stupid as i thought it sounded at first
wanyonyi's 3:54 road mile converts to 3:36, cheptegei has a 3:37 pr but there's no way that's his limit as a 12:35 guy, more like 3:33 absolute minimum. i see them being pretty close.
though neither of them really have given the 1500 a serious attempt, and i don't expect cheptegei to, but wanyoni might. we have to see what he runs while in 1:41 shape

To the OP's question, Wanyonyi's history suggests he is more of an 800/1500 athlete than 400/800. I would guess him capable of at least 3:33 on the track, maybe faster. He should win this, and would probably win up to ~1 mile.
Not a rhetorical question, why would either one want to run a non-standard distance? What's the rationale?
