Wow! Truly impressive and only 19 years old. He looked like he was wearing almost knee length shorts too. Running style so different from the likes of Rudisha but obviously works! This is just what we needed in the 800m. Has been a real dry spell.

UNREAL!!! that did NOT look like the finish of a 1:41 race. i cannot believe i am saying it, but i can see that WR going down within the next 1-2 years.
also, fantastic to see some depth in this race. all events have their declines but it looks like the 800s is over.
between wanyoni, arop, and others the 800 is looking bright. i hope sumner can return to form to eventually challenge for a title for the USA, and perhaps one day lutkenhaus will join them.

I think this can only help Arop. A couple of months ago he was number 1 in the world. Now multiple people are running faster than him.
The positive from these fast times is there will be little or no sandbagging at the Olympics. I said 2 weeks ago someone will have to run 1:42 to win olympics - now I'm thinking 1:41.
Emmanuel Wanyonyi trips and falls in the men's 800m semifinal 2 for the Paris Olympics Trials 2024.//Let’s Connect:FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/DhkTvKe...
Convenient to get to this level just before the Olympics. Amazing, though, that this took place in the trials. Did anyone function as a de facto pacer or did he lead the whole way like Rudisha at London 2012?
Actually I find the Kenyan trial of the 1500m a bit of drama and the only beneficiaries are Kerr and Jakob. With their meticulous "mico-managing" system.
Performances like this frighten the theorist of the new renewal...
