Why does NB continue to suck? What happened? “Weather”?
Yes, weather delay earlier this evening bumped everything back - and 2 mile moved to Saturday am. Too bad, weather conditions tonight were great after the thunderstorm went through.
I haven't seen if they've adjusted sections tomorrow morning with potential scratches.... Anyone have that information?

Last year they had a weather delay and the races went until midnight. It made for a late night, but the racing was phenomenal and the weather ideal. Wish they wouldn't have made the decision so quickly. They could've at least had the seeded heats (1 & 2) go.

Yep. I live right across the river from Franklin Field. Weather is perfect for a distance race right now.

So instead of bumping some other event, like the completely pointless 4x200 relay, they bump the biggest race of the weekend and, in the process, kill any chance for Simmons to go sub-8:30/sub-4:00? So dumb!

If he is that good then he will have no problem running a double with 9 hours rest.

Fr they have given us the perfect opportunity to take down German Fernandez's claim to best one day double

Germans double is 2 hours apart
yeah so they're gonna have to run a whole lot better to make up for the extra rest. Hopefully at least one of them takes it. It would be tragic if they both chose the one that the other didn't do.

Idk why this is downvoted. Sure, doubles are hard, but truly great runners find a way. German got 2 hours of rest. When Hocker won the indoor double over a collegiate record-holder, he had even less than that. If Simmons is who we think he is, he will find a way.

Because it puts the burden on Simmons. this is probably his last chance to be a sub 4 minute miler.
LOL at the commentator suggesting that St John Kletter didn't have to stay in a hotel overnight because she's from Pittsburgh and this is basically a home meet for her.
The drive from Philly to Pittsburgh is only slightly shorter than the drive from Philly to Boston. I'm pretty sure she didn't sleep in her own bed.

She probably is hanging with Drew Griffith, the. They datin
Simmons wins in 8:38. Basically jogged the thing until the last two laps and then blasted the other runners to win by 14 seconds.
Thanks again Meet Director for bumping this race to this morning. You ruined your chance to have a national record and a ton of publicity.
I also hate the decision and would have preferred two different days.
But I highly highly doubt Simmons changed his racing strategy at all. I imagine the race would play out pretty similarly no matter what.
And we will see during the mile, but Simmons is as good off of the double as anyone. He set the 5k indoor national record and won Arcadia after running 4xmile legs the night before.
