Below is the invited list and start lists for tomorrow
First though a few thoughts on the mid-d/distance events:
Men
800 - I see this as 3 out of 4 favourites - Wanyonyi, Kinyamal, Kemei, Ngeno. There are semis here which are bound to be difficult, especially semi2 with Wanyonyi, Kinyamal, Festus Lagat. I'd be shocked if Emmanuel Korir makes the final. Dark horses I'd say Lagat, Noah Kibet and Ferguson Rotich can't be discounted.
1500 - Again 4 favourites - T. Cheruiyot, R. Cheruiyot, Komen, A. Kipsang. Kipsang with the most to prove after poor start to the season. Don't see others mixing it up; best of the rest perhaps Keter, Simotwo, M. Kipsang, Munguti, Amon Kemboi. Missing: Josphat Kipkirui (2nd at nationals)
3000SC - 3 favourites - Koech, Kibiwott, A. Serem but Leonard Bett is good but question with his return from a big injury and this being his first steeple since Budapest WC. Dark horses would be E. Serem (8:20 at altitude can't be disregarded, brother of Amos Serem, apparently 16 years old...) and Mathew (Kip)Kosgei. Like Emmanuel Korir, I'm not expecting much from Conseslus Kipruto here.
5000 - Probably the most wide open event for men with Krop, Kemboi, Kwemoi, Masai, Kurgat, Kiplangat going with the standard but Ebenyo and Waithaka could factor. Dark horse could be national champ Daniel Kimaiyo, who I do think will be there despite not being on the invited list and 17 year old Andrew Kiptoo. Worth noting Emmanuel Kiprop is undefeated on the track this year too with 3:38/13:15 SBs.
Women:
800 - Strait final where M. Moraa should dominate and Vivian Kiprotich and Naomi Korir look set to go. Lilian Odira could factor and Mary's sister Sarah is worth watching ahead of a probable World Junior appearance.
1500 - Faith Kipyegon should dominate if she races but a few questions surrounding her recent injury. I think Chepchirchir will be fine but then between Ejore, Jebitok, Mary Ekiru, perhaps Dorcas Ewoi if she goes might be close.
3000SC - Trio of B. Chepkoech, Cherotich, J. Chepkoech seemed safe but J. Chepkoech has been struggling so if an in-form Doris Lemngole if she can recover from NCAA + travel she looks primed to make a real bid at this team.
5000 - Looks like this is where Kipyegon will open her season. I think Chebet is favourite though. 3rd spot might be between Margaret Kipkemboi and Agnes Ngetich. Missing: Lillian Rengeruk, Emmaculate Anyango
Realized that Amon Kemboi isn't in the 1500

Great preview. It’s a sentimental pick, but I think Kibet has found something. I think he’s got a chance. There’re 3 high risk-reward kickers in Kipngetich, Ngeny and Rotich who should scare Kinyamal. Heck even Lagat is scary in that way.
I saw Kipsang is expressing confidence and this 1500 really should be a barn-burner. I think he might be the odd man out though. This could be like Tim’s 2016 for Reynold though, he hasn’t looked fully sharp yet.
Steeple I think goes chalk but the younger Serem is going to make it interesting.
5000 I think Ebenyo, Krop and Kemboi. I always discount Kemboi but he tends to get it done.
W800 I hope Ewoi can be added as she was under 1:59 and her chances are better here. Moraa and Kiprotich look like sure things. I think Ewoi beats Korir if put in.
W1500: Kipyegon, Chepchirchir, and I think Ekiru beats the bigger names
WST: Doris has a real shot! Jackline has looked off for a while
W5K: Rooting for Ngetich I like Chelimo but she’s not medaling and Ngetich could

Thanks for the thoughts, very thorough
Two other notes for Will:
Read Kimaiyo was skipped over African Champs because he didn’t have a sub-13:30 time. Which I guess means his road time doesn’t count. Would be nice to see him get a good rep here.
For Josphat Kipkirui Sang, wonder if they are going to prep him for World Juniors. Him going against Myers would be a great one. Possibly Mehary too though not sure what distance he’d do.
ran with mike boit a couple of times
and played on a mostly kenyan squad football
i liked training with kenyans back in the day, and not americans, due to their non convoluted mind set, just run. americans. love them, intelluctulized a non intelluctual thing.
so running with kenyans are among my favorite memories . tip top.
i think canova has a point, there are legit kenyans
but at this point.
there is no interest in Kenya athletes by now. PEDS
ban KENYA, which I never said, but 100 plus postives, give me a break.
the women runners are a joke. make a mockery of the sport.
though Kenya women outside track I met are very nice.
Long live kenya and ban em.
a kick in the aaass, we all need to smarten us up.
is doping control going to have a pop-up track side?
The queen is ready 🔥
Eh. Wonder why top 2 pushed the pace so hard when they already have the standard and well clear of the field
edit: and Faith is doubling tomorrow
There’s like 6 people watching the meet. Is it closed?
Heat 1: Kemenei, Kipngetich, Kidali
Are there live results anywhere?
Heat 2: Kinyamal, Lagat (Wanyonyi last after a fall, maybe will advance anyway)
Heat 3: Cheminingwa, Kibet
whats the selection policy? is it first 2 + 1 like UK or first 3 like US. or perhaps 2 + a nike athlete :)
Looks like it first 2 at trials + 1 selectors choice. Lets hope that wanyoni is selected anyway if not advanced to the fnal after his fall.

I hope they’d advance Wanyonyi to make it a cleaner selection. He was really emotional after so you hope he is able to collect his emotions.
