I mean Jake took a big trip to the US and had to go all-out to beat Holt. Kerr sure? But Jake was looking to win a race clearly after a poor effort in Stockholm.
Yeah they have a good track record of peaking when it counts
Wightman: 2019 (5th) 2021 (10th) 2023(DNS)
Kerr: 2019 (6th), 2021 (3rd) 2022 (5th)
Both have no European Titles
Point and laugh everyone 🫵😂
Your actual point non withstanding , when you cherry pick what years to use, you lose all credibility. The only reason to include 2023 for Wrightman and not Kerr is if the true results don’t support your narrative.
Kerr has had an incredible track record of peaking recently, seems to have figured things out, and is still trending in the right direction. Why should he change what is obviously working?
So what? As big of a Jakob fan as I am and as good as I think he is considering the fashion he won in, you can't knock Kerr and Wightman for not running. Kerr has nothing to prove and Wightman is coming off injury, so he's focused on toeing the line at the Olympics healthy.

Incredible when many here consider indoors is useless. Way to turn your logic around, you lose credibility in that way as well. One medal means nothing, how many does Jakob have? Including Silvers and Bronze?

If I had realized this was a troll I wouldn’t have replied the first time. Shame on me for writing a serious reply.
Lmao. Jakob really jogged in last place for the first 4, almost 500 meters of that race. Then absolutely blew away bonified 3:30 guys like Gourley, Habz and Mechaal on the final stretch. I mean that wasn't even close. Jakob was just toying with them. That was 90% effort at most from Jakob.

Yep, very comfortable win. He seems back to 3:27/28 shape.
Wightman is fine. UK trials will be tough and he has his work cut out for him to make the team. He has already raced 8 times this year.
Kerr is dodging but that’s just what he does unfortunately. Skipping Euros in his position is pretty weak, but maybe he’ll run Monaco? I hope so.
It’s kind of funny that Jakob has raced more in the last 2.5 weeks than Kerr has in 2024. Love him or hate him, he always shows up, which is exactly what the sport needs from its stars.
I think it made sense for Wightman and Kerr to skip Europeans and it also made sense for Jakob to run it. Jakob is still racing himself back into fitness and a win like this will definitely bolster his confidence. Wightman has pretty much already raced himself into fitness and now should have his eyes firmly on the British trials where he'll have to be sharp to beat guys like Gourley, Giles, Mills, Fogg, and a good number of other guys who could come through if the race favors them. Kerr is in the most enviable position as he's basically sitting pretty until the Olympics, just waiting for the other two to come meet him. He'll run the 800 at the British trials and mess around with tactics and probably see how easily he can run some 1:46s. Basically he can do what he wants for now.
I also think it's cool that they didn't all run Europeans because it saves the matchup. We got a taste of it at Pre and that was a nice appetizer, but now we have to wait for the real show to see how they've all moved on. More matchups doesn't always mean they're just as exciting so I'm fine with Wightman and Kerr skipping out, since it made sense for both them.
I don't fault Wighman and Kerr for skipping. No ne is going to remember who was the Euro champ. It seems like Jacob wanted it to sharpen his racing fitness, and, boy, he looked sharp. Still, all that matters is who wins in Paris.
