Hi, in Italy Lee is famous for having won the 100km of Passatore, later he posted a series of videos on YouTube where he explains his training philosophy.
I really like the way he talks and I'm interested in training like that, he believes a lot in modest mileage for those who work 8 hours and are not a professional, and believes in training 6 days a week giving the body 1 day of rest.
This is a simple week of training for marathon prep that he suggests
M. Recovery Run
T. Easy Run
W. Intervals
T. Day Off
F. Easy Run
S. Easy Run
S. Long Run
What do you think of this training scheme? I'm very interested because I would like to go back to running a marathon under 2h30' , (latest 2h34' on hot and hilly route this year) and now that I have a small daughter I don't want to do so many km and double run, I would prefer to keep the volume down and try like this.
honestly I think it's not bad, it's very similar to JD, but I think that on quality days you need to do a lot of volume ( and quality) to use the rest of the week as rest, i think it's similar to JD 2Q program.
thanks for any advice
Ricky
