Why did he leave Duke originally just to return?
He's a great hire and never should have been forced to leave a decade ago.
Good to hear this. Kevin is from my town. Nice running career at Georgetown and a smart guy. Had a successful coaching run at Duke years ago. Good to see him back there.
Tottenville's finest!
Why did he leave the first time?
Is he related to the Bozeman HS coach Casey Jermyn?

Coach K wanted him gone
He originally resigned to spend more time with his family (he had 2 little kids at the time), his wife had just gotten a big promotion working for the State of NC Health Dept, and to pursue his dream of becoming a physical therapist. I believe he started the program at Duke PT, but it was too difficult, so he withdrew. The coaching position was open at Elon, so he took the job there.
Not true. He and Coach K got along really well.
He was not forced to leave. He left on his own.
Life, and because he was very good to his wife.

I don't think he was serious...
Congratulations to my Hoya Brother!

"And so we are all connected in the great Circle of Life"
I would consider coach Jermyn a top 5 coach in the NCAA, he’s just been underrated throughout his career. At Duke he only coached the women so now having both genders we will really get to see what he can do. I’m rooting for Kevin!
It's like Lebron going back to Cleveland. Congrats to wejo's former roommate.
PS. I don't think it's true he was ever forced to resign. Didn't he leave to spend more time with his family?

Sounds like a positive move. Will follow the program closely particularly the Aussie 5th year runner from Princeton.
I think it's funny that everyone is saying he wasn't fired, he left to spend more time with his family when "spending more time with my family" is the most often used euphemism for being forced to resign.
It is probably true in this case, but still, funny.
How do you say his name?
- Jermaine
- German
- Gerbalman?
Please help!
