Lots of things wrong with this. 1) Celebrating before the finish line. 2) She's not even celebrating a win. She's celebrating because she thinks she got the BRONZE. 3) It's race walking, so what is there to celebrate even if she did win?
That was my initial reaction, too. I am not that familiar with racewalking rules, but my understanding has always been that at least one foot is to remain in contact with the ground at all times. Both of here feet were clearly off the ground for a substantial portion of each stride. It seems to me that 4th place should have been dq'd.
What is the actual rule for what makes a legal stride?
There is NO EXCUSE for slowing down early in a racewalk race. You are literally WALKING already, it actually takes zero extra energy keep walking at the same pace to finish.
Also this has to be the most vain person in the universe. She sees that she is being passed inches before the line but still proceeds to waste energy by STOPPING HER WATCH at the finish. Lady nobody cares about your strava page.
The real story is that they were running, but especially the "walker" who passed her. How can you get away with both feet off the ground at the same time so egregiously in those so-called sport?
