Hello everyone. My goal is to eventually run a sub-17 5k at some point, I ran a 17:22 earlier this year off about 25-40 mpw. Although, I think it's better to put that goal to the side and come back to it come October when temps are cooler and it's easier to get volume in during the summer.
That being said, I've switched to trying to run the fastest 400 possible to work on my speed because I'm slower than a snail in short distance and it's fun to switch it up. I'm probably hovering around 1:05-1:10 in the 4. What do you guys think I could pull off by the end of September, and is this good to compliment my goal of eventually trying to get to sub-17 5k in the future?
Also, I currently weigh about 170 lbs and am 17 percent body-fat. How much would losing weight improve my time and what's the best way to go about losing it?
What are some good workout recommendations as well? What's worked well for you?
Thanks for anybody who replies in advance!
