I am going into XC season and as I live in California spikes are not allowed. I was wondering if I should get ASICS metaspeed sky Paris or the takumi sen 10 for the 5k.

bump
why re spikes not allowed?
You know spikeless track shoes exist, don't you? But you just want to run in supershoes that are made for roads, on the grass?
I don’t know about on grass/dirt but in a track or road I would definitely prefer the Takumi Sen.
Yes, but there is a lot of pavement and it hurt my feet/knees. There is atleast 1/2 a mile of pavement on every course.
The Sky would cause me some hesitation if you run courses with tight turns. The foam is very soft and will be unstable when cornering.
Takumi Sen 10. Lighter, ideal for short distances.
I have previously run in alphafly 2s for XC (I bought them off my friend of 50 bucks) so I am not really worried about stability. My main concern is what will get me the fastest time. Thank you guys for all the impute.
This.
Takumi Sen is heavier than Asics Sky Paris.
I have previous Takumi Sen and both Sky+ and Edge+.
For xc I prefer Edge, super stable and has good traction.
I can't imagine running an XC course on a super high stack shoe like the Metaspeed. Takumi is a much better option. Whatabout something like the New Balance SC Pacer or Nike Streakfly?
Or Asics MagicSpeed 3
I have tested most shoes, and metaspeed edge is most stable on trails and turns. They feel lower to ground than Takumi Sen 8,9,10, Streakfly and not even speaking about Vaporfly.
Sky version is less stable and more bouncier than edge. Better suited for roads.
Takumi 8 is superior to 9 and 10 IMO. Might save you some cash
How is 8 better than 9?
I have both and they are very similar, but 9 is bit lighter and more comfortable, because they don't put pressure on arch.
10 yes, they are heavier than both
I have issues with the flimsy tongue on the 9. I find it bunches in places and it's not protective enough (for me).
