Unless I've missed it, I haven't seen any discussion of this on here: for the Trials, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has registered not only for the 400h, but for the 400 flat and even the 200.
I'm not sure how this fits with her recently saying she was only running the 400h at the Olympics. Is she thinking of using the other events at the trials just as a workout?
If SML actually lines up in the women's 200, this could be absolutely wild.
The last 3 who made it to Tokyo:
Gabby, Jenna, Anavia
All three of them are likely in trouble and here's why:
Sydney might be the favorite considering how badly she destroyed that field at the LA Grand Prix. Sha'Carri seems to be in good form after taking down the loaded Pre field. Jacious Sears ran 10.77 and might be a threat if she's healthy enough. Abby Steiner is back and starting to sharpen up again. Britany Brown has been winning almost everything. That's 5 girls who should all be able to go well under 22. Who else am I missing?

To clarify what you wrote, Sydney and Kersee didn't say that she was only going to run the 400h at the Olympics. They said she would run only the 400h at the Trials.
So you wanted to know why is she now entered in 3 events in the Trials? Because they lied, that's how. And lots of people believed them about her only running the 400h at the Trials. Haven't people learned by now not to trust anything that Sydney and Kersee say?
So why did they lie? Probably because they were tired of answering the question about what event or events she's running at the Trials.
So for anyone who believed them, you have now learned to not believe them in the future.
The schedule makes it really easy to do both the 400 and the 400H at the trials. 5 full days off after the 400 final before the 400H starts. And she doesn't even need to be at her best to run away with the 400H. I would be shocked if she went for the 200. The 200 final and the 400H SF are literally consecutive races on the second Saturday.

She’s less interesting to me than are most rocks. I am literally more interested in drone racing.
Felix 2.0. Talented. Fast. And boring.
Next.
The divine gift to sprinting speaks again folks! And it's useless drivel! Shocking!
Every user of this website needs to do their best to divest from this idiot. He couldn't recognize talent, speed, or appeal if someone spelled them out in front of him.

Abby is injured
She just raced 2 weeks ago at the LA Grand Prix and has raced 8 times this year. She was 2nd to Syd in LA with 22.32. I think she'll be fine.

She scratched yesterday at Racers because of an injury - it was announced before the meet. 3 weeks before USAs with the level of competition out there right now? She should very worried. There are 2 women, one at the university of South Carolina, and one at Ole Miss who are ready to come in and snatch a team USA spot if someone is off their game in any way.
Antonio Watson, defending world 400m champion scratched because of an injury during warmup.

Sydney in three event probably being used to get race sharp since she missed part of last year with a knee injury.
Sha'carri is no 200M runner.
Sears won't be ready
Jenna is a mess. Bad decision to move to Kersee. She will not be a factor
Steiner looks like she's rounding into form
The 200M rests on Gabby, Brown and Steiner's shoulders.

I am confident that Kersee is hedging bets.
Sydney may run the 400/400H at trials so she has the option to later declare which one she will run at the Olympics. This declaration will only be done once Kersee gets a better idea of her form and what her competitors are doing in the 400M. Right now Paulino has a 49 high. If Sydney runs a sub 49 at the NYC meet and again at Trials, she will run this event at the Olympics.

Jenne looked just terrible today. She has gotten worse every year since Tokyo. Hope that Puma contract is not performance based.
She went to Kersee. There is an idiotic poster who every time Kersee is mentioned talks about Kersee having chemists on call. Well apparently Kersee is either not giving Jenna the drugs or the ones he is giving her are having quite the opposite effect.
