Didn’t see him on the screen but peacock went to commercial. Assuming he didn’t fall but thought he’d be more of a factor.
He needs to stop relying on his noob kick. He will never be a contender if he refuses to go out faster or take chances in the middle of the race instead of just the last 100m.
Did you expect him to go out at WR pace, ie 6+secs/km quicker than his PR?
He stayed in the second group ran under the OLY standard again and was within a second of his PR. I'd say that's looking alright with still many weeks of prep to go

There’s a middle ground between going out with Bor suicidally and dropping a 14.4 and 62 last lap to run 8:15. He’s gonna have to find it because a guy with 3:49/8:05/13:04 PBs should be comfortably in the 8:08-8:12 range.

said he was sick but needed the hurdles practice.... seemed pretty happy with 8.14 considering how bad he felt .... Oh that's right i forgot elite athletes don't get sick or injured .
The New Zealand Olympic committee should select him for the 1500. As everyone including Ritz knows Beamish is a natural miler and has little interest in the steeple. He was a pacer at Penn because it was clear that he would beat both Romo and Hoare if he ran the full race.
There's 2 guys that are 20-30 seconds faster than everyone else. Beamish has as good a shot as any for a bronze. I'd say he has a 50/50 shot at it. He has a 1% at anything else barring an injury to Girma or El Bakkali.
It is gold. "I'm not contagious anymore". I hope not!
Like others, I was hoping he would have attached himself to the chase pack (the three guys behind the lead pack) and eventually kicking to an 8:10 PR rather than letting that huge gap form, but after hearing how sick he has been, 8:15 is pretty impressive.

This is just frankly disrespectful/dismissive to the steeple field. Guys like Wale, Koech, Kibiwot, Serem and Sime have run 5-10s faster than him. A few of them have gapped him in nearly all their races vs him. He might be 50-50 to beat any one of them right now in a race. Putting all of them as a coin flip to beat him as an entity is wild unless he has taken a huge step. Happy to hear he was sick though.

You're probably right, but Beamish seems in good form with his 1500 indoor world championship gold. On reconsideration, I would take the field over Beamish for a bronze. But I give Beamish a better shot than any of those guys individually. I think he can break 8 in Paris. Just my opinion.
