was she boxed in? splits show she was in 11th after 3 laps and then finished faster than everybody else except the winner to move up to 4th. nice to see this kick shes developed. shes rarely needed it in high school races (maybe Arcadia) so we havent seen it much up until now.
She has the b standard for trials in both 800 and 1500. She won't be a threat to win, but perhaps can still get in with lots of scratches.
Always fun to have some high school runners. Unlikely now that she can get the a standard, but still some good running.
Also there is always the U20 team.
I remember her saying she's running the 1500 at the Portland Track Festival, next weekend, so that will give her another shot (though I don't see her name on the preliminary entry lists).
May 24 – 4:50.52 (CIF state prelim) May 25 – 4:32.06 (State Final) May 30 – 4:28.46 (Festival of Miles) June 1 – 4:10.18 (Music City)
This girl races a lot.
Some might say too much
I believe she is up to 19 or 20 sub 4:40 miles or 1500 equivalent so far in her HS career. And she still has some races to come this year and all of next year before she heads to NC State.

Sadie will be in that general area for Brooks PR a few days later so there's a good chance she still ends up running at the Portland meet.
2 races 2 weekends in a row is not a lot. Plenty of high school kids do that. Some run 3 races per weekend, like an 800, 1600, and 3200. So what?
There will be runners at the NCAA who run both the 10k and the 5k. Will you also complain about that?
Those high school kids are not racing against pros in different cities around the country every week. And they are not trying to qualify for the US Olympic Trials.
Sadie seems to be trying to race a pro and HS schedule at the same time. More power to her if she can make it work, but I would love to see her in the trials (if she gets in) not burned out from over-racing.

With USATF sending a U20 team back on, why do these kids run Brooks PR on the same day they could be trying to make a US team at U20 champs? Brooks PR champion is sh!t compared to a chance to wear the Team USA kit.
I also don't know why or how she could run Brooks PR anyway because she would to wear a Brooks kit and she has a NB NIL deal. That seems awkward and only benefits Brooks using her NIL for free.

You really like to exaggerate. In the last month Sadie has only run against pros twice, and both of those races were part of the same trip. So you can relax now.

Sadie Engelhardt already ran at NXN and she was scheduled to run at Hoka Foot Locker before she backed out last minute. It's not a big deal.
High school NIL agreements allow the runners to run at meets put on by other sponsors as long as those races don't conflict with one of the NIL sponsor's meets. Sadie will first run Brooks PR and then later run New Balance.

Agreed. Misplaced priorities - see this too much, where running in a USA vest is seen as a secondary thing at this level. HS coaches enamored with these post-season HS meets, and even College coaches of first year kids (who will most likely never get the chance again) who are more concerned with getting ready for XC. Touhy should have tried to make a team when she was a junior - as did Addy Wiley (working out for her) - so should Engelhardt. Shea made a couple of XC teams. Rachel Forsyth didn't try for a vest in the fall, but has chosen to try and make a Canadian team for track (her dad/ coach is from Canada).

Sadie has bad guidance and again she’s going in to her senior year. Never get excited about a female athlete so young. Meaning history is not on her side for success in the future. And not that it makes a big difference but she will be 19 when she enters college as a freshman. Technically she should be graduating this year. So she got held back for some.
