Nothing Earth-shaking, but a solid PR FTW.
One of my favorite interviews, very candid on his struggles

The previous workout
If we could only put it together in a final
I heard going vegan a few months ago helped him to this PR
He has been fully carnivore the last six weeks 😁
Holt has been on one the past couple years, glad to see him hitting strong trials qualifiers. One of the gutsiest racers out there.
Hulk SMASH!!!!!
That is interesting. He now has a faster 800m PB than Nuguse, and though an outside chance, is in the mix in a chaotic Trials final.
Empire Elite 1-2-3
Not interesting or relevant especially given the time.
If he goes 1500 at NYC Grand Prix, it’d be a great sign if he is in the mix with Wightman/Kessler. Not expecting him to beat them but staying close to them would be a great sign.
Holt could be America's 1500m 'enforcer' in championship meets. If foreigners try to beat our guys, Holt can knock them off the track and out of the race.
This is the kinda thinking we need in the sport
If there was a "Chumbawamba Tubthumping Award" for getting knocked down and getting back up again, Holt the Bolt would have my vote.
Always love Holt the Bolt, the people's champ. I have heard his training is entirely Rocky-style montages.
bro literally climbs a rope for strength training
Big fan of Holt. I do think, though, that he needs to clean it up tactically. He tried to make a pass on Nuguse from like 250 out at Penn. He moved out, but never could make the pass. Patience, young man, patience. You can wait till the last 50 meters to move (Hoppel at indoor Worlds)
hearing rumors of an Eric Holt / Mike Tyson fight later this year
You gotta love Eric Holt and wish him the very best. He seems to be stuck just shy of being a favorite to qualify for Paris. But all props to him for doing everything humanly possible to get there.
It is a question whether they leave it all on the practice track, given the really high quality workouts they do in comparison to their races. They have a number of 1:45-46/3:34-3:38 guys but 1:18/4x2 easy at about 5:00 mile pace/50/4x2 easy/50/4x2 easy/1:17-19 at 7,000 feet is a pretty killer workout and maybe they don't quite recover for the big races when they break down the muscles that much in workouts.
