Any tips on how to improve training for a 1500-5k runner? This female distance runner ran her prs as a sophomore off only 20-25 miles a week. Once upping mileage she sustained a stress fracture her junior year xc and struggled to come back for track after returning to running too soon. She came back and did alright in xc senior year but nothing too substantial, no prs. Indoor track senior year she tied her prs, and was healthy running higher mileage, but by outdoors she was injured again. Any advice for how to make improvements with this? Lower mileage? Same mileage? cross training? Trying to figure out summer training.
