People always say this, and whilst they're correct that it can signal doping, there are very non-significant amounts of people who for whatever reason need braces later in life. For example I have never been to an orthodontist, wouldn't have been able to afford it as a child, but I have a large gap between two teeth - thankfully it's on the side of my mouth and doesn't look bad but if I cared enough about it I'd have to get braces to realign the top row. This is quite a mild scenario and I think probably is related to by lots of people. Many people's teeth gaps get bigger over time (naturally) or they just couldn't afford dental care in school and their teeth were always in need of fixing (I know a few athletes like this).
So rather than simply having braces I'd look for significant increased size of jaw or something like that.
30s Invisalign wearer here. Not taking any HGH. The reality being that I couldn't afford to get my teeth how I wanted them as a post doc. Sure some might be on HGH, but orthodontic treatment isn't cheap and is down the priority list when you've got 1000 other bills to pay. Often takes time to get the disposable income for these kinds of extras (assuming you don't come from a wealthy background, or the US where everyone seems to get properly sorted as children).
Everyone here already thought he was a doper after his 12:47 in Paris 2012, so what difference does this make? Was he not on HGH then according to you then?
I don't think it's that uncommon for guys from third world countries (who probably never could have afforded braces as a kid) to get braces once they become pro athletes and make decent money. Many needed braces as a teen but didn't have the ability to obtain them.
Probably, although I work just a normal office job and my co-workers have them because they can finally afford them, or their teeth shifted later on in life.

Lol yes, is extremely common for older (late 20s, 30s) people to have braces in underdeveloped countries... Hate these sort of phrases but this thread wreaks of first world privilege lol

Have you seen Hagos's teeth at any point in the last twelve years? Dude has much more legitimate need for braces than most.
Crazy idea op....but as a rich/privileged/coddled American, it may be hard to believe, but not everyone around the world has all the privileges and money and healthcare access you probably did growing up.
If Hagos felt he finnaly had the cash to drop on an orthodontist, props to him. Living the dream and he earned it.

And El G in Sydney. The Moroccan team had a full-time dentist to treat HGH jaw.
Proof?
It backfired on him a little though as he developed ulcers from his brace, and had to sit in a dentist's chair for hours two days before the 1500m final.
The first words Hicham El Guerrouj uttered as he left the scene of his 1500 metres defeat in Sydney's Olympic Stadium last September can now be revealed - 'I am finished with running,' he said
