Definitely something was going on with Andrews too. Stopped posting on Strava and when called on it went “private”. The dropped out of Penn 1500 and went MIA since February. Let’s see what the 1500 in Portland looks like. Must be coming back from injury like the typical Ritz crew.

Yawn! Another one that you can’t count on. Could care less frankly.

Andrews has entered the Trials 5k. She said she was only focusing on the 5k this year.
They got it wrong this year but the group's success has vastly exceeded expectations so far. Injuries are a major part of the sport and every major training group has them.
Actually has any in Mike Smith's group been injured severely recently? Ritz was known for pushing the envelope too much in his own career and should err more on the side of caution.
But Jerry, Bosshard, Graham Blanks' coach all suck too cause they got people injured.

Louis Grivalda had a minor injury in the winter but he's back. Elly Henes had surgery last fall but it had nothing to do with training. she's also back and looks good.

LoL. Yet running the 1500 in Portland!? So much for focus 🙄
How difficult is it to surmise that if she is only doing the 5k at the Trials (she is not entered in the Trials 1500m) that any 1500m race until then is for the purposes of race sharpening in prep for the Trials 5k? 🙄

LOL! LOL! The joke is on me! ANDREWS HAS ENTERED BOTH THE OlyTrials 1500m and the 5000m according to the USATF website!!😆😆🤪

Andrews has entered the 1500m probably as a last-shot attempt at making a team in-case she doesn’t make the 5k team. 😊
You think so? Beamish and McDonald were both terribly and chronically injured before joining OAC, and they're both finding a lot of success now (McDonald is a bit further behind but just ran 13:00 and is almost certainly going to the Olympics). I think I mentioned this in another thread, but Monson, Klecker, and Andrews all look out for the season. Pretty sad, but in an Olympic year, athletes push the envelope.
Hoare has taken a long time to get back into shape, but he ran 3:49 at Pre and will likely be going to the Olympics now that he has the standard and was 2nd at Aussie Trials. Garcia Romo ran 3:50 (got the Oly standard), which isn't great for him, but he doesn't need to compete with Katir anymore for a spot on the team, and I feel like he's a good championship performer. Basically, I wouldn't make quick judgements about them right now when the Olympics are so far away, particularly since they're probably being careful with Hoare coming back from injury.
Nuguse is a clear 3rd best in the world right now. A good bit behind Jakob, who is a good bit behind Kerr, but still like 1.5s ahead of the 4th best miler in the world. Also faster than any American ever besides September 2023 Nuguse.
And I think Sage just ran like 1:58. A very good time for her, and while she's still not a favorite for the team, the women's 800 is stupid deep in the US right now, so I don't know that you can blame Ritz when her time would get her to the Olympics if she was part of almost any other country. Anyone I'm missing? It really doesn't sound too bad to me, but I'm admittedly pretty biased towards them.
Getting injured is unfortunately normal for bigger bodied 5k/10k professional runners. Fortunately for Beamish, he's been so incredibly conservative with his training which his meant he's barely had any issues. I wonder what will happen to Klecker and Monsoon when they switch to the roads and begin marathon training - Possibly their bodies will do better with less speed work.
